Lake Hefner in Northwest Oklahoma City was built in 1947. It has 2,500 surface acres and 94 feet deep at the deepest point. Lake Hefner has an average depth of 29 feet.
Attractions on or near the lake include wet slips and dry storage for boats. A walking, jogging, biking trail. A terrific golf course is on the south side of the lake along with the Stars and Stripes Park for picnicking, feeding the ducks, and a playground. Also there is a mountain bike area on the north side of the dam.
