Lake Hefner, Hefner Golf Course, and Hefner's multipurpose trails
Lake Hefner, Hefner Golf Course, and Hefner's Multipurpose trails were busy this weekend. Parking was scarce around the club house / restaurant. Even on a motorcycle, it was hard to squeeze in.
The weather was great, if you don't mind a little breeze. The greens didn't looked packed. I know very little about golf, although I have read some really good reviews about the Hefner Golf Course and the Restaurant located with the shop. The Lake Hefner Golf Club features two challenging golf courses from which to choose to play. The Northwest Oklahoma City Golf Club has an eighteen hole regulation length course.
Lake Hefner's multipurpose trails cut through a small portion of the of the course as they wind around Lake Hefner. M
ost of the trails are for riding bicycles or walking. There are also what I would refer to as hiking trails that are more appropriate for walking or maybe a mountain bike.
There are secluded areas, as well as the more public areas. The trails wind around through the boat docks where there are many sailing vessels to gaze upon. You can walk/ride across the dam, or cross north of the dam near the mountain bike trails that are for the more adventurous riders. You can drive across the dam if you enter from the south from Wilshire Blvd. and go north on Lakeshore Drive. Cars may only go west to east across the dam.
Lake Hefner Trails, if followed all the away around the lake, will take you by some great restaurants such as Louie's Bar and Grill, Redrock Canyon Grill, and
a couple of other restaurants you may want to try out.
I rode around to the south side to look off of the point near the fishing dock. I was not alone. as I looked across the lake and took a few pictures. This Oklahoma Realtor enjoys life just like anyone else would on a beautiful Oklahoma week end at a beautiful lake.
There are a lot of sail boats that reside at Lake Hefner. The Oklahoma City Boat Club facilities are on the east shore of Lake Hefner. The lake is said to be one of the finest inland racing lakes in the country. Also there are many wind sports activities going on on the northeast side of the lake near the restaurants and Hefner Point office center.

As I sat and looked across the lake, I remembered some pointer signs to Homes for sale near Lake Hefner I remember thinking to myself, this property must be very valuable. This close to a nice lake with a golf course, and only a short drive to downtown Oklahoma City, or Edmond businesses and shopping malls.
I made a pass though the Stars and Stripes Park on my way out before heading north on Portland to the Northwest expressway. It's a great place to bring your children and let them feed the ducks. There is a lot of playground equipment and picnic areas. The tennis courts and ball fields are just a little ways up south from the park.
This motorcycle riding Realtor is glad he lives close enough to the lake to enjoy it without having to ride for an half an hour to see it.
Just telling you more about
