Rick and Nancy Jackson
Our Online Dependancy
Today for a brief period of time I was very pleased that Cox Cable had an outage and my internet service was down and I couldn’t work! You see I could work without the internet but because I am so ‘techy’, I do everything possible online or at least on my computer.
So when the internet went down today I thought to myself, ‘what a wonderful excuse to not work’. And I said it with a smile. The weather outside was beautiful and everything was so peaceful out on my lounge chair in the backyard.
That is until my newest client called extremely excited about a home we had view last night and urgently wanted to submit a contract. Uh Oh – NO INTERNET!!!
I can and have many time written contracts by hand, but I do prefer to do it the easy way, online. So I loaded up my laptop and here I am at Barnes and Noble. The contract is written and I have emailed it to myself and then downloaded my email while I was here. So, all I have to do when I go home is print the attachments.
But I also had to write my blog for the day, check my facebook and edit a few client searches on the Oklahoma City MLS. My monthly newsletter will just have to wait until Cox is back since it is all done online as well. So, when I say I can’t work when the Internet is down, I really can’t do much. It is amazing just how dependant I, and I am sure many others, have become on the Internet!
Just in case you are looking for Oklahoma City Real Estate or Edmond Real Estate, don’t be concerned that you’ll be stranded in an Internet crash. I do have a pen!!!
