Edmond is home to Oklahoma's first school. The school house still stands today as a historic monument. Edmond Public Schools manages 24 schools, among which are 2 National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence: Edmond Memorial High School, awarded in 2001, and Edmond North High School, awarded in 2007.
